New Discoveries

This painting has gone many transformations, but essentially it started with a wet in wet background in watercolors. Then I created some space divisions and applied pastel to come areas. Finally I made more zigzag lines with white pastel and colored some other areas.

rainy Day

This painting is 30x30 in acrylics. It went through many layers before it finally seemed finished.

Striking Gold Again

Another gold moment. Many layers of paint went into this. Started by putting modeling paste  on top and imprinting buttons, etc. Then I gave it a layer of gold leaf and then painted several layers of acrylics. Finally decided to paste a layer of mesh.

Another Golden Moment

It was gold time in my studio. Got out my gold leaf and painted it over a watercolor surface. I added the usual touched of acrylics and ink. Also rubbed some gold leaf. Can't deny my Spanih heritage.

GOLD MOMENTS

This painting is a collage which I did for my class . I started with two piees of watercolor paper and glued them together. Then I  put gold leaf on the sides and painted cardboard in metallic gold. After looking at it a day or two I added accents in ink and pastel.

Walls of Ancient City

This painting is 14x14 . It was a joy to paint this mixed media work and am showing today to my experimental art class. What joy to teach and paint

Many Wishes by Silvia Williams

I had a lot of fun painting these three panels which were done separately in mixed media. I have been teaching a class in experimental art and our second class is on pouring liquid media on paper. I thought the panels went well together althugh they were done as paintings with no idea of them making a larger painting. I will now frame it in a 16x20 format. I am really enjoying teaching watermedia. .
