Musical Moments No. 2

This piece is a companion to the other Musical Moments. I will be framing them  in black. Am going to paint a series of membrance as part of memories of the now distant yet close land I came from. There were many years of separation when it was not possible to travel between this country and Cuba and didn't see my folks for close to 20 years. I am going to do a series incorporating some of the letters that sustained us duiring those painful years. .

Playful Again

Again in a playful mood . Decided to incorporate letters after a wet in wet background.

While Playing

This small painting happened while just playing with shapes, tissue paper, mesh from fruit and alphabet letters. I found the composition satisfying and glued all the items.

Yellow Music

This painting started out as part of a demo in my experimental art class. It is done at first wet in wet with a cocktail of  watercolors, acrylics, inks and gouache. I poured the mixture and let it dry. Then after many days I made some lines and added the buttons, notes and the plastic black circle..

Fall Beauties

This painting is a collage. The dimensions are 18x24 and is triple matted. The fall has always inspired wonderful paintings and this painitings was inspired by that season. The collage was done on tissue paper that I painted in different colors. Then I added lines and splashes of paint. What do you think of this approach?
