on vacation

Won't be posting for another week or more. Enjoying visiting my lovely goddaughter tha had not seen for a while. Enjoying the sun also. No paintings have been done. The opening of the new gallery had an attendance of 300. Pretty good for a cold night. Will be posting again soon. The galllery has more than 30 of my paintings. Later, Silvia

Anbivalence

After wetting the paper and placing a mixture of gesso and watercolors on the wet paper, I let it dry. After a while, I looked at it and saw some of what appeared to be some lines formed naturally by the wash. I emphasized some shapes and printed with metallic ribbon with pastel crayons. A little more color was added with subtle pastel rubbings.

Livening Up the Day

This painting is 20x16 and is mixed media. It emerged as did others recently trying to make sunshine out of hay if that is the right order to that saying. Dreary weather caused the desire to liven up the emotional scene.

Afternoon Thoughts

This painting went through a lot of transformation , but basically it was a wet in wet. Later I gave it a coat of gesso, diluted. Afterwards, I placed the pastel accents to punch it up.

Twigs and Branches

This painting is also an 18x24 mixed media . I , as usual, started with wet in wet washes of orange and yellow. Later I put some touches of ink and then made the lines. The painting reminded me of twigs and branches . Perhaps they serve as a bird landing area?

Back Life?

This painting started as a wet in wet with some layers of watercolors and I kept on putting layers of it. Then I poured some ink washes in white. Finally after a while I punched up the color with pastels. Toward the end I made some pastel lines and squigels.

Four Diamonds

This foursome can be seen separately as well as together and also vertically. They are 6x6 acrylic with ink lines. I had fun painting it.
